I feel like no words can give the Givenchy Haute Couture Spring '11 collection any justice. The pieces are beyond incredible, with the exquisite detailing and the elegant symmetry created by the master and fashion genius, Ricardo Tisci. His inspiration for the couture collection is based on a concert held by Antony and the Johnsons as a tribute for the deceased japanese dancer Kazuo Ohno. Tisci told style.com that Ohno became a kind of muse for him. "Ohno provided the romance, the melancholy, and the palette (the colour of dried flowers)".
Together with this japanese elegance and softness, Tisci has worked in the elements that many of us links with Japan: electronics, and especially robots. The headpieces and the shoes are proof of this. This combination of new and old, hard and soft fascinates me deeply. Ricardo Tisci really is an amazingly talented designer.
