Givenchy Haute Couture Spring 2011

I feel like no words can give the Givenchy Haute Couture Spring '11 collection any justice. The pieces are beyond incredible, with the exquisite detailing and the elegant symmetry created by the master and fashion genius, Ricardo Tisci. His inspiration for the couture collection is based on a concert held by Antony and the Johnsons as a tribute for the deceased japanese dancer Kazuo Ohno. Tisci told style.com that Ohno became a kind of muse for him. "Ohno provided the romance, the melancholy, and the palette (the colour of dried flowers)".

Together with this japanese elegance and softness, Tisci has worked in the elements that many of us links with Japan: electronics, and especially robots. The headpieces and the shoes are proof of this. This combination of new and old, hard and soft fascinates me deeply. Ricardo Tisci really is an amazingly talented designer.

Natasha Poly for Vogue Paris February 2011

As a continuation of the last post, I have to post these stunning black and white shots of Natasha Poly for the February 2011 issue of Vogue Paris. She looks absolutely gorgeous in knits and sequins by Gucci, Emilio Pucci, Burberry Prorsum, Salvatore Ferragamo and Michael Kors. Her hair is fantastic - I adore long, tousled hair with a fringe, done bohemian style. I want my hair to grow fast, fast, fast so I can I have exactly this hairstyle for the summer. And I wouldn't mind these designer pieces either, thank you very much.

Daria Werbowy in Balmain for Vogue Paris

If there is one thing that I never grow tired of when it comes to fashion, it is a great of shot of Daria Werbowy posing for Vogue Paris while wearing Balmain. In a way this combination is getting slightly predictable, but when it comes to it I can look through my fingers as it always turns out excellent. It's like Daria was born to wear Balmain, and when this is featured in Vogue Paris it becomes ten times more chic. Oui?

Kate Bosworth relaxed at LAX

If you don't like Kate Bosworth's style, I have to apologize since I have posted about her a lot lately, but I am guessing that most of you are as huge fans as I am. I have mentioned this over and over again, but it is the chic style that shows simplicity without being boring which Kate perfects. And that is what I absolutely love.

This photo was taken of her at LAX on her way to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, and it' one of those outfits that will definitely go in the "What to wear at the airport?" folder. Really, it is a bit strange how obsessed some people can be when it comes to airport outfits (especially me!). Ah well, it's a quirk I'll have to live with.

Street Chic in Elle Turkey February 2011

I often get very inspired by editorials that are based around street style. Especially when there is leopard, leather and khaki coloured coats involved. I wish that I had every piece to create outfit no. 1 so I could wear it right now. Khaki with leopard print is gorgeous, and the splash of red fits perfectly into the mix.

The Golden Globes: The Fantastic Four

There were a lot of beautiful dresses seen on the red carpet last night at the Golden Globes. The celebrities (or their stylists to be correct!) really stepped it up. I have narrowed my favourites down to a number of four. I often like a lot of sparkle and glamour when it comes to these events (as seen on Angelina Jolie in a green Versace gown and Anne Hathaway in Armani Privé A/W 2010), so it surprised me that my absolute favourite look of the night is the nude Calvin Klein dress worn by Emma Stone. Her simplistic look, with such a clean-cut dress and only a few accessories proves the saying that "less is more". And what I love most about the dress is how well it goes to her blonde hair and her skin tone. Also, I am so happy to see Leighton Meester in Burberry (from the pre-fall 2011 collection). She is the perfect Burberry girl in my opinion (except she isn't British...tiny detail).

Who's dress of the night was your favourite?

Soho Sienna

I feel like I can never say enough how much I love Sienna Miller's style. Even though she is just wearing jeans and a t-shirt, she looks amazing. I guess that goes beyond having great style; it's the x-factor with she possesses. On Thursday, she was seen out in Soho, London after eating dinner with Keira Knightley, wearing this ensemble. And let me say that I would gladly own every piece she is wearing. This is one of those perfect "Oh, I just threw this together 5 minutes before I had to leave!" outfits. Fantastic, Sienna! This is why I love your style.

One Way To Wear Wang

When I visited New York back in September, I treated myself to a black Coco Duffel bag by Alexander Wang. Every time I wear it, I feel like royalty. It perfects every outfit, and I never grow tired of using it. It's as though it's my little baby.

I love it when the bag pops up on streetstyle photographs, allowing me to get inspired to wearing it in different ways. This photo from Stockholm streetstyle is so refreshing. The contrast between the black and the nude leather jacket by Céline is excellent. Also this photo reminds me that I need to get myself the YSL arty ring (seen on her right hand). I just know that it belongs on my finger.

Nicole Does Hippie Chic

Yesterday, Nicole Richie arrived at a meeting with her design team in L.A looking like a bohemian princess. Wearing a long floral maxi dress in pastel colours teamed with a seagreen cardigan shows off the hippie chic style that Nicole does perfectly. What makes me fall head over heels in love with this outfit is the accessories she's wearing. The golden bracelet and the two rings are stunning, and I am guessing that they are her own design through "House of Harlow". Please let me know if they are not, because I would love to get my hands on these pieces.

Bohemian Kate

One can safely say that I am having a bit of a Kate-mania phase at the moment. I find myself searching for photos of her at any random moment just to make sure that I haven't missed a great outfit by her. Yes, it's slightly sad, but discovering a new, inspiring ensemble gives such a rush to my fashion heart. I love it when Kate Bosworth goes bohemian. It's a great look on her. And she must sure love those earrings, as she's been seen wearing them a lot lately. I don't blame her as they're gorgeous.

The Photographer

Jessica Stam ranks high when it comes to my favourite models, and this editorial from the January 2011 edition of Vogue China shows why. I admire the way she often is able to portray a strong, confident character in her editorials, and her blue eyes are extremely powerful. I have this vision of how a young, successful photographer looks like, as I have always seen it as an exciting and glamorous occupation, and Jessica Stam's editorial fulfills this vision perfectly.

Elin Kling for H&M

Fashion blogger and stylist is the next in line who has designed pieces for H&M. I remember I heard some rumours about this some months back, and I thought how great it would be if it was actually true. And so it is! The line consists of 11 pieces (9 fashion pieces and 2 accessories) and will be in Swedish H&M stores the 3rd of February. Lucky Swedes!

Elin herself has stated that "The collection is minimalistic and raw, but with bohemian elements, something that reflects my personal style well." H&M describes it as "a strong and clear collection, where silhouette and materials are more important than decoration. The details are well considered and discrete, such as the un-even hem on the washed leather jacket, the hidden chain at the neckline on one of the dresses, and the raw edge on the wide pants. The balance between the hard, tough and sculptural, and the soft, draped and feminine suits both H&M and Elin perfectly."

What do you think about this collaboration?

Kate Keeping Fuzzy and Warm

These images are from back in December, and I know that in fashion one should always look forward and be one step ahead, but I just have to post Kate Bosworth's outfit anyway. She has a knack of wearing very simplistic outfits, but often with an element of surprise (the earrings in these photos). It's these outfits that I love the most; the ones where it seems like you've used no time thinking about what to wear, but the result is stunningly chic. And not to self: buy a similar fuzzy jumper!

Silver & Sparkles

I am dreaming of Caroline's sparkly silver boots by Giuseppe Zanotti. I wish they would magically appear in front of me this instant, and I would dance around in them all day and all night long.

Brief Encounter

I love Grace Coddington's works, and this editorial from the January 2011 issue of Vogue US leaves me breathless. It's rare to see an actual story being told in an editorial, but here it's hard to miss. Daria Werbowy plays the role of a reporter who falls for the legendary photographer (played by actor David Strathairn) she is interviewing. The whole atmosphere with the clothes, the accessories, the setting gives me the chills. I hope 2011 brings more editorials like this one.

Saturday's Inspiration

This image just won't leave my mind. "Why?", you may ask. "The outfit is close to perfection", I answer. It carries various elements which I am obsessing over, and have been for quite some time. The bold, chunky knit teamed together with thin, delicate fabric which makes the maxi skirt, gives the feeling of contrast (which I am weak for). Grey and warm beige is a beautiful combination, and teamed together with a splash of bright colour (the red bag, socks and nail polish), it's just brilliant. The black hat and the boots enhances the toughness of this outfit, giving it a rock-chic edge to it. And don't let me get started on her rings because I am developing a huge crush on the one in the middle. Something tells me that I'll be wearing something very similar in the near future. Maybe a perfect outfit for tomorrow, while eating Sunday brunch with friends?
