Saturday Streetstyle

I hope you are ready for a lot of streetstyle inspiration, as I am now bombarding you with fabulous photos of amazingly well-dressed women for this week's "Saturday Streetstyle" post. At the moment, I am loving flowy, dreamy dresses, skirts and trousers; something that is shown in many of these pictures. I especially adore Hanneli's white, bohemian dress by Peter Jensen!

The Royal Wedding: Kate Middleton in McQueen

I know that I was not the only one who held by breath for slightly too long when Kate Middleton stepped out of the car in front of Westminster Abbey earlier today. And she was an absolute dream! An elegant, stunning and incredible bride. A perfect princess taken straight out of the most wonderful fairy tale. Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen created an exquisite gown, and I love how it reminds me of Grace Kelly's wedding dress.

Designers gave their praise to Sarah Burton's design. Karl Lagerfeld stated that "She (Kate Middleton) is very elegant. The dress is classic and goes very well in the Westminster decor. It almost reminds me of (Queen) Elizabeth's wedding, the royal weddings in the Fifties. The proportion of the train is good. The lace is very pretty. I like the veil a lot."

Christian Lacroix exclaimed: "I like the dress very much, simpler than expected: A combination just in between 1956 Grace Kelly and 1947 Queen Elizabeth dress. I love the modest veil with the Queen Mother's Thirties scroll tiara and balanced volume of the whole gown. She's radiant; she never was so beautiful."

What do you think of the Kate Middleton's wedding gown?

Kasia Struss by Josh Olins for H&M Magazine S/S 2011

For their spring 2011 edition, H&M Magazine have created a range of various looks for the coming season. Stylist Ludivine Poiblanc has dressed up Kasia Struss in looks from biker boho to sensually sweet to punk chic, and Josh Olins has captured Kasia in the clothes superbly. I have fallen deeply in love with the orange suede jacket. It will look even more amazing together with sunkissed skin. And that red blazer is so stunning - the pin detailing looks so good.

Emma Stone & Freida Pinto Celebrates at Louis Vuitton

Last night, Glamour magazine celebrated its May 2011 issue at the Louis Vuitton Rodeo Drive boutique in Beverly Hills. The issue has three different covers, featuring Emma Stone, Freida Pinto and Ashley Green. The cover stars attended the party at Louis Vuitton, where Freida Pinto stood out with a cute Peter Pan collar and Emma Stone sparkled in sequins.

Freida Pinto was dressed in a Louis Vuitton jumper from the A/W 2011 collection, teamed together with a Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola clutch. Emma Stone wore a dress from the Louis Vuitton pre-fall collection, together with a clutch from their luxury brand. I absolutely adore this dress, and especially the top-half, as I am addicted to sequins.

Who was the best dressed in your opinion; Freida or Emma?

Kate Moss for Longchamp S/S 2011

I have been meaning to post this video for the longest time, and many of you might have seen it already. For Longchamp's S/S 2011 collection, Kate Moss has, along with the French company, put together a range of handbags for the summer season. As a part of this collection, photographer Alasdair McLellan has directed this gorgeous 70s inspired video featuring Kate Moss. After seeing this, I desperately want hair like Kate's. How perfect wouldn't this kind of boho-chic hair be for summer?!

Alasdair McLellan has also shot some beautiful photos of Kate Moss and the Longchamp bags. I am loving the bag in the 2nd photo - the white and brown leather satchel. But then every bag looks great when Kate Moss is wearing it.

Summer Must-Have: The Yellow Bag

As we have just seen the end of the easter celebrations, there is no doubt when saying that yellow is one of the most current colours at the moment. However, fashion-lovers won't be quick to leave this trend behind as it was one of the most exciting colours on the runway for the S/S 2011 collections. All shades of the colour were represented on the catwalk; from a pale, creamy yellow at Chanel to a bolder and brighter shade at Christian Dior.

Swedish blogger, Angelica Blick, has picked up this trend, and showed off a gorgeous yellow bag on her blog a few days back, teaming it with a simple and chic outfit. The bag (and the outfit!) has been on my mind ever since I lay eyes on it.

The bag is from Zara, and can be used both as a clutch and a shoulder-bag. Perfect for making an elegant outfit so much more exciting! If you're not too keen on yellow, the bag is also in the colours red, green and blue.

Do you like this trend? Will you be purchasing something yellow for summer?

Kate Moss for Vogue Paris May 2011

There is no shortage when it comes to Kate Moss decorating magazine covers this May. Along with both the covers of Vogue Japan and UK Harper's Bazaar, Kate Moss has landed the cover for Vogue Paris this coming month. On the cover, shot by Mert & Marcus, Kate is wearing a jacket from the Armani Privé S/S 2011 collection. I have read very mixed opinions about this cover over at The Fashion Spot; some saying they love the red background mixed with the blue and white, while others say they hate the hands that pull Kate.

Kate is also featured in an editorial inside the magazine, styled by Emmanuelle Alt, where she wears couture pieces. The editorial consists of mix of black and white photos, and brightly coloured 90s inspired shots. I especially love the shot of her in the stunning swan dress by Ricardo Tisci from the Givenchy S/S 2011 Haute Couture collection.

What are your opinions about the cover? And do you like Kate's editorial?

Alexander the Great

With inspiration from Savage Beauty, a retrospective opening at the Costume Institute on May 4th, the May issue of Vogue US features a handful of the beautiful pieces designed by the one and only Alexander McQueen. The photos are shot by photographer Steven Meisel, and styled by Grace Coddington. The four pieces posted here are from McQueen's iconic collections Number 13 (Spring 1999), Voss (Spring 2001), Widows of Culloden (fall 2006) and Sarabande (spring 2007).

At Vogue.com, creative director at Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton, shares a story for each of the pieces photographed. She talks about how the silk-lace ruffled dress from the Widows of Culloden collection (worn here by Karen Elson) was inspired by Burton's own wedding gown. Also, she shares a memory about the flower dress from the Sarabande collection, here worn by Caroline Trentini: "This dress had fresh flowers on it. We put them on just before she went out, and they started to fall off one by one as she walked. I remember people saying Lee timed it. We had a laugh about that. It was an accident!" Helena Christensen in Stella McCartney S/S 2011

Stella McCartney's designs for the S/S 2011 season are as hot as a house on fire. Citrus graphic prints and the tailored suits are two essential keywords for the summer collection. In the May issue of Harper's Bazaar  Russia, Luis Sanchis has photographed Helena Christensen in these two powerful looks (look 20 and look 31) from the collection. Both of these outfits oozes summer with its bold colours and the bright whites. Helena Christensen looks like a goddess in these pieces - she is one of the ultimate Stella McCartney women.

Saturday Streetstyle

Apologies for being one day late with the Saturday Streetstyle post. Really, this post should now be called Sunday Streetstyle, but I can't ruin the tradition. So, better late than never. Right now, I am loving the combination of lace, especially white lace, together with denim, as seen in the third photo. Also, I adore the 80s vibe in photo no. 7. The white jeans together with the leather jacket is fantastic, and I can't help but get a feeling of seeing Olivia Newton-John from Grease.

Which outfit is your favourite?

Golden Rings

The models who walked for Dries van Noten's A/W 2011 runway show, had their hair decorated with simplistic, golden rings. Dries van Noten is known for being clever with details, and this is definitely one of them. The golden rings are very minimalistic, but still attention grabbing. They can make a boring ponytail look ten times better, without demanding a lot of time from your side.

Frida Fahrman, a Swedish fashion editor and blogger, shows us mere mortals how to get this look for less. With golden rings (in size L) and a bracelet (in size XS) from H&M, she gives us the easy peasy recipe to succeed with this budding trend. It looks so good, right?!
